Read-along document reader with text-to-speech, synchronized highlighting, and audiobook export.
OpenReader turns EPUB, PDF, TXT, Markdown and DOCX documents into synchronized read-along audio, with word highlighting and background generation. It can use self-hosted speech servers or cloud text-to-speech providers and export audiobooks as M4B or MP3. Self-hosting options include Docker, configurable database and object storage backends, and a separate compute worker for document processing.
